Fish
Saturday, September 27th, 2008So, why do we put tartar sauce on fish, but ketchup on fish sticks? Seems like we should put tartar sauce on fish sticks, too. Strange. Laterz!

In an interesting turn, my website now comes up when you google my name. A few months ago, almost all the results were about some professor. Last time I checked, God’s Dominion was third. Even more interesting, a friend of mine in Boston googled her name and my site came up first because she was mentioned in a comment back in ‘06! Hmm, perhaps I should put some more time into this site, no? Laterz!
As some of you may know, my dad’s been having terrible pains in his arm for the past couple of months. One doctor told him it was arthritis, but that didn’t make sense to anybody except that doctor. Turns out he has a dislocated disc (probably slipped disc, but things get lost in the transation with my parents sometimes). They’re putting together a course of treatment, but please be in prayer for him. I’m not sure how he did that considering his sedentary lifestyle. Must’ve been that extreme web surfing or extreme channel surfing. Thanks in advance for your prayers. Laterz!
Last night a Metrolink train was hit by a freight train. Sound familiar? Yeah, to me, too. Anyway, this time it was a Union Pacific train involved in the wreck (mine was BNSF). I still don’t know too many details, such as the cause. What I do know is the current toll is 18, with three still believed trapped. Reading the article and looking at the pics brought back a lot of memories.
Anyway, I’ve been home sick since Wednesday afternoon. Pray for me. Laterz!
I know I’ve been talking about the weather lately, but anybody else think it’s strange that there have been four earthquakes over 6.0 in the past 24 hours? There was one in Iran, one off the coast of South America, one in Indonesia, and one in Japan. The Indonesia and Japan quakes were about 20 minutes apart. Crazy. Laterz!
Well, the Collider was turned on this morning and no black holes swallowed the earth. Of course, some will point out that this wasn’t the real test which will create a black hole by recreating conditions that formed the universe, but hey. Any victory is a victory, right? If we’re still alive after the real experiment, I’ll be sure to post another “told you so.” Laterz!
Hmm…Gustav, Hanna, Ike, Josephine…Does anybody else remember having four named storms going on at the same time? I know only Ike is still around right now, but at one point all four storms were blowing at the same time. Josephine never hit anything as it was in the middle of the Atlantic, but I’m thinking something funny’s going on. Remember this comes after a summer with a couple of destructive quakes in China, plus California (another one a few days ago), Nevada, Mexico, Illinois (quakes in Illinois?), etc. I’m thinking our planet’s going nuts….sounds perfect, since it seems the people living on it have gone nuts.
By the way, if we have 21 named storms in 2013, one of them will be called Wendy. There could be a Rebekah that year, too. I thought that was funny (if you don’t get why, that message wasn’t for you).
Anyway, speaking of going nuts, this Wednesday, the Large Hadron Collider is going to be turned on for the first time this Wednesday. It basically just smashes some atoms together to see what happens. Now, some people think that it will create a black hole that will destroy the earth. In case you’re getting nervous, let me tell you right now that it’s absurd. I’m looking forward to seeing what secrets it unlocks. Unfortunately, the real tests will be much later. Wednesday is more of a test. Well, if we’re still around Thursday I’ll be sure to post a congratulations to the Collider.
Laterz!
