God’s Dominion

So, the jr. high group at my church (aka, The Zone) had a Water War on Tuesday (we missed you, Adam).  It was fun and warm enough to feel good when wet (until later when many of the Zoners were shivering and one had blue lips).  I had the largest gun there.  As a matter of fact, it was almost as large as one of the boys.  I thought it was really funny to have somebody come spray me with their little gun only to be completely drenched by my gun.  I look forward to soaking some more next year.  Until then, I’ll have to be content with throwing them into Lake Geneva during the camping trip in August.  For any Zoners reading, I hope to see you all there.  Laterz!

My current contract is in McHenry, so I basically drive down 120 from my house to McHenry.  I think 8 of my 11.5 miles is on 120.  Anyway, in between Fish Lake and 60 in what I think is Volo (right about here), 120 goes from two lanes to the east to four lanes to the west.  It also goes from 55 mph to 45 mph as it gets wider (don’t ask me why the speed limit is higher when the road is smaller).  For some reason, every morning I’m stuck behind some driver doing 45 in the 55 where I can’t pass him.  Then, when it widens and the speed limit goes down to 45, everybody speeds up.  I can’t figure out why they want to drive slow in the 55, then faster in the 45.  They speed up to like 60, because if I do 55, I don’t pass anybody and I actually get left behind.  I don’t know what the deal is with that, but it’s really annoying.  Okay, I’m finished with my rant now.  On to our regularly scheduled postings.   Laterz!

Wow.  So my internet problem was that my modem stopped working.  I contacted AT&T and they agreed to send me a replacement.  When it hadn’t yet arrived four business days later, I called again.  They informed me it never went out and they would send it next day air at no charge.  The next day, no modem appeared.  I called yet again.  I was told yet again it hadn’t been sent and they would send it next day air.  When it didn’t arrive the next day again, I called once more.  I was told that since the order was placed in the afternoon, it wasn’t sent that day.  Finally, it arrived yesterday and I hooked it up.  Now that I’m back, give me a few days to catch up on emails, websites, and RSS feeds and I’ll be back to posting soon.  Laterz!

I have been without internet since Friday, which is why I haven’t been posting.  I’m posting from work, but can’t take the time to write a real post.  I should be back up and running tonight or tomorrow night.  Until then….Laterz!

Sure is slow around here, no?  It’s been a busy month, or so.  I was sick, then I was catching up, then I was preparing for a pool party & barbecue.  I’m hoping that over the course of the next month I’ll be able to start making some of those updates to my site.  I’ve been uploading my pics to my new picture location and grabbing some code for a new fun & games section.  I’m also considering adding a tab with some ads and affiliate programs which will help me make a few dollars if you guys click on them.  Won’t cost you anything, but it will help me.  I know it won’t be much since I have about three readers, but every little bit helps.
