No, it’s not that the movie was so great that it deserves two posts (although I am planning a comparison between Alfred and Jarvis when The Dark Knight comes out). It’s just that I found this great article about the MIT connection to Iron Man. I know, I know. You’d think I went there or something. Laterz!
So, I went to see Iron Man today. It was an excellent movie and well worth seeing on the big screen. One of the reasons I like Batman so much over other heroes is that he has no super powers. Instead, he uses his own abilities and those really sweet toys. Well, Iron Man has some pretty sweet toys, too. I mean, who wouldn’t want to fly around in a nearly indestructible, highly armed suit? Not only that, he has an awesome computer setup that I would love to have here at home, robots to help him out around the shop, and Jarvis, his house computer. No, really. He talks to his house. His house greets him when he comes home. I want to talk to my house like that. There’s one scene for you to watch out for, though. There’s a scene where Colonel Rhodes is on the phone with Tony Stark. He has a ring on his left hand. That ring is an MIT class ring. Looks very much like the one I have on my right hand. Is that sweet or what? Anyway, to make it easy for you without any spoilers….go see it! Oh, and make sure you wait until the end of the credits. There’s an additional scene. It’s short, but you really need to see it. It will make sense after you see it. Laterz!
