Okay, after my blogging software crashed (or was hacked), I reinstalled it and the upgraded version has some very nice features. I’m planning to integrate my blog with Facebook (including comments) which will be pretty cool. Once I do that (soon, I promise!), I’ll be posting more often. Laterz!
Wow. So my internet problem was that my modem stopped working. I contacted AT&T and they agreed to send me a replacement. When it hadn’t yet arrived four business days later, I called again. They informed me it never went out and they would send it next day air at no charge. The next day, no modem appeared. I called yet again. I was told yet again it hadn’t been sent and they would send it next day air. When it didn’t arrive the next day again, I called once more. I was told that since the order was placed in the afternoon, it wasn’t sent that day. Finally, it arrived yesterday and I hooked it up. Now that I’m back, give me a few days to catch up on emails, websites, and RSS feeds and I’ll be back to posting soon. Laterz!
I have been without internet since Friday, which is why I haven’t been posting. I’m posting from work, but can’t take the time to write a real post. I should be back up and running tonight or tomorrow night. Until then….Laterz!
I’m working on another change to my site. I’m adding a new “Fun & Games” page. I’m going to add Dilbert comics (more, if I can) and some online games. I’m working on getting the code (and the appropriate permissions) and working out a design. It’s going to be pretty simple, but I want to lay everything out in a way that’s not cluttered and is easy to get around. I’m also working on adding more pictures to my new pictures page. There are some I’m not going to put up, but I’m also adding some new ones. I’m not sure if I’m going to add the Brazil photos because of how many there are. I might change my mind later. I don’t think many people have been looking at the six year old pics, anyway. If you’re really interested in me keeping them, let me know. Otherwise, as soon as I upload the last group of pics, I’m switching my pictures page over. At that point, I’ll start adding more pictures from time to time. Laterz!
Well, I’ve decided to keep my current blog because I didn’t want to lose my history. I uploaded a couple of albums to Picasa to get an idea of what it would be like. It’s much easier to upload photos and I can include dates and even a map of where the photos were taken. It’s pretty sweet. However, it’s also much more public than what I currently have. That means I have to be a bit more careful about what I upload. I can add the ability to download photos and even purchase them. I’m already pretty careful about what I add there, so I may just leave it public, then add links on here to private ones if I upload anything I want to keep out of the public eye. I know I haven’t been posting often, but I’m looking into a few upgrades around here. I’m actually thinking of heavily using various Google services to improve my site. I can actually allow you to chat with me directly from my site, I may replace the photo gallery with Picassa, I may add a link so you can see my calendar (at least when I’m busy), and I may create a group or two to keep people linked (like one for my family and one for my Zone small group, etc.) Things have been extremely slow at work (my next scheduled task is on Friday…it’s Tuesday) so I hope to do some research this week. I’ll probably change the structure of my site a little to have a main page, then link to the blog. Speaking of the blog, I haven’t decided if I’m going to just upgrade to Wordpress 2.5 (I’m currently using 2.0.2) or switch to Google’s Blogger. It’s a nice tool, but I’d lose my entire history of postings. I’m not sure I want to do that. If I can find a way to import it, I’d probably switch. For those of you who are tech-savvy, my site changes will actually allow you to view some of this stuff from your cell phone. Pretty cool, huh? I’ll keep you posted. Laterz!
I apologize to my readers for not letting you know this (both of you), but I’ve been really busy as my time has been winding down at SAI (today was my last day!). My site is being moved to a new server. As a result, I will be taking a backup and loading it there. In order to do that, I have to stop posting for awhile longer as any changes will be lost when I restore the site on the new server. I’ll let you know when things are back up. Laterz!
I know I was supposed to post last night and I was also supposed to post my Chapter 11 comments, but I was without internet for part of the evening and that really threw me off. I plan to post something tonight and add my chapter 11 and 12 comments in the forum, as well. Laterz!
It seems our little website community is growing. I’ve now had four people add comments to my blog (hi Lijin!) and four people besides myself have accounts in the forums (although only one is actually posting, for now). Between the blog and forums, only one person is on both lists. That means I’ve gone from having two readers for most of a year to suddenly having seven in a month. I hope 2007 is a big year for God’s Dominion. There is so much I’d like to do with this site. I will be making quite a few changes over the next few months. I’m even thinking of adding a web calendar here. If anybody has any ideas of what they would like to see me add to the site (even if you have thoughts on what you think I post about), go to the forums and add a comment in the “Forum Ideas” section. I really want to grow this into a place that Christians can come together and have a community so I’m thrilled by the growth over the past month. Be sure to tell all your friends (just let me know so I can approve them if they sign up)! Pray that God’s Dominion goes where God wants it, not where I want it. Pray for His direction. After all, this is God’s Dominion, not Roberto’s. Laterz!

I added a section in the forum for spiritual questions and another for tech questions. Feel free to post any questions you have for me in either of those. If you see a question and you know the answer, feel free to answer them, too. If I don’t know the answer to a question (quite likely), I will do my best to find the answer, with references. Let me know if there’s any other sections you’d like to see in the forums (not that anybody has actually posted anything there yet) .
On a related note, I might get rid of the section for problems with creating a login. It seems the process is working now as three people have created accounts (six if you count the weird accounts from the Ukraine!). I have had to delete quite a few posts in there (including two about homosexuality) and it’s becoming more trouble than it’s worth. If anybody has any objections, let me know.
